Canon press release:

Canon UK inspires tomorrow’s creative minds with Creative Media Camp

United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, 11 August 2016 – Canon UK, a leader in imaging solutions, today announced ‘3 Steps’ as the winning team of Creative Media Camp – a summer camp, aimed at inspiring young people’s creativity. The initiative was run by The Essex Collaborative Outreach Network in partnership with the Ideas Foundation and Canon.

Twenty students took part in the programme at South Essex College, which ran from 1-5 August. Students attended workshops, led by industry mentors and university academics, to help them learn about courses and careers in the creative industries. The participants worked in teams to answer a brief set by Canon, related to storytelling around travel, fashion or sport. The purpose of the programme was to work collaboratively with companies to promote the creative industry as a place to work, to inspire young people to become more creative and offer a space for ideas and knowledge sharing.
