Canon Eos-1d X Mark Ii

The Canon EOS-1D X Mark III might have leaked through a wireless certification authority.

One of the following SKUs for accessories (e.g. external transmitter) might refer to the EOS-1D X Mark III.

  • DS586191 (DS586192 / DS586193 / DS586194)
  • Wireless file transmitter
  • Wi-Fi (IEEE802.11a / b / g / n / ac) compatible
  • interchangeable lenses: 3450C005AA, 3792C005AA

We know that the upcoming Canon EOS-1D X Mark III (all rumors) will be released in 2020, most likely before the Summer Olympics. Field testing might already have started. Specification wise, 6K video resolution, IBIS and a resolution jump are rumored.

Stay tuned.

Canon EOS-1D X firmware 2.0.8 released

EOS-1D X

Edit: as usual, a typo :-/ it’s the EOS-1D X we are talking about here

Canon released a firmware update for the Canon EOS-1D X, version 2.0.8 (download).

Firmware Version 2.0.8 incorporate the following fix.

Fixes a phenomenon which occurs when the "Shutter button half-press" menu item, configured in "C.Fn5: Operation" > "Custom Controls Menu", is set to metering start only; depending on when the shutter button is half-pressed, it may initiate AutoFocus.

Firmware Version 2.0.8 is for cameras with firmware Version 2.0.7 or earlier. If your camera's firmware is already Version 2.0.8, it is not necessary to update the firmware.
The firmware update takes approximately seven minutes.
