So far Canon featured focus peaking only on the EOS M5 and EOS M3. Hopefully this patent means Canon will feature focus peaking on more cameras in the future.

The Canon EOS M3 is the company’s third mirrorless camera. And it is Canon’s first serious mirrorless camera, with many features and functions that will appeal to the enthusiasts. So, how does the EOS M3 perform and is it right for you?

It seems Canon listened to their customers while developing the EOS M3. Unlike the original EOS M, the M3 gained additional controls, a large grip, and has a 3-inch touchscreen that tilts up (180 degrees) and down (45 degrees). The EOS M3 features a new 24MP APS-C sensor, 49-points Hybrid CMOS III AF system, DIGIC 6 processor, Full 1080p HD video at 24/25/30 fps, ISO 100-12800 (expandable to 25600), a two-level axis, WiFi and NFC connectivity, 4.2 fps, a built-in flash, 14 bit RAW, and a flash hot-shoe that can be used to mount an EVF. Canon eventually getting serious with the EOS M system? [CW2]

A new rumor surfaced, again suggesting Canon will get serious about the EOS M system… next year.

It’s not the first time that rumors suggest a break-through EOS M camera. in 2014 we were told that Canon would take the EOS M system seriously in 2015. Though the EOS M3 appears to be a good attempt (waiting for mine to be delivered), it’s still not convincing anyone Canon is taking it seriously. It’s true that you can virtually use any EF or EF-S lens with the adapter, but having only four native lenses isn’t a sign of great commitment to the cause.

Is the Canon EOS M3 coming to the USA? [CW2]

We (thanks) and others got word that Canon may introduce the EOS M3 to the US market.

I do not think this will happen. It happens rarely that big companies change their global marketing strategies after the introduction of a product. Still, the reasons for not selling the M3 on the US market are hidden to me. This has probably have to do with the fact that mirrorless system sales are struggling in the States, and with the huge marketing flop the EOS M was. Btw, the first EOS M was available in the USA.

If you live in the USA you can still get the EOS M3 without having to rely on dubious eBay sellers. DigitalRev sells the EOS M3 and ships internationally.
