Canon Might Have An RF-mount Fisheye Zoom In The Pipeline

Nothing surprising here. Why should Canon not work on a fisheye zoom lens for the EOS R system.

Rumor has it that…:

[…] a zoom fisheye similar to the EF version will be coming for the RF mount. It will be an “all-new” optical design and will work just fine on both crop and full-frame cameras.

For the time being, Canon only released the RF 5.2mm f/2.8L USM Dual Lens Fisheye for the EOS R system. The RF 5.2mm aims at virtual reality applications.

As usual, take it with salt. Unless the usual few Japanese sites confirm it, it’s just educated speculation.

Stay tuned, or even better: don’t, and get out taking pics.

A new super expensive RF 200-500mm f/4L IS lens for the EOS R system? It looks like according to the latest rumor emerging from the interweb of rumor mills.

Says the source of the rumor:

Canon’s EF 500mm f/4L IS USM II is going to be a zoom for the RF mount first. We have confirmed that a Canon RF 200-500mm f/4L IS USM will likely be coming in Q4, or perhaps in Q1 of 2024 ahead of the Canon EOS R1.

The Canon RF 200-500mm f/4L IS USM will not come with a built-in teleconverter.

Another RF lens that will cost like a small car.

Is Canon set to announce an ultra-wide lens for the RF-S mount? It appears so.

The source of the rumor has been…:

[…] told that “one of” the next lenses announced from Canon will be an ultra-wide for the RF-S mount. We are are going to assume that the lens will be some kind of variation of the terrific Canon EF-M 11-22mm f/4-5.6 IS STM.

We think it is very likely Canon has such a lens on their release plan.

We know Canon will soon announce the RF 100-300mm F2.8L IS, as a recent rumor suggests.

Now we have what most likely is an image of the RF 100-300mm F2.8L IS lens. See on top.

We thinks the image is real and not fake. This is going to be a rather expensive lens; rumor has it somewhat shy of $10,000.

What are your thoughts?

It seems Canon might be set to soon announce new tilt-shift lenses for the RF mount.

Rumor has it that Canon is already testing two tilt-shift lenses in the wild. The source claims they have been “told that the new tilt-shift lenses are in the hands of a select group of photographers“. These are the two rumored tilt-shift lenses:

Canon TS-R 14mm f/4L
Canon TS-R 24mm f/3.5L

Rumor has it that lens manufacturer Yongnuo might release a 85mm F1.8R DF DSM lens for the EOS R system.

Asobinet reports:

This lens has a new logo design, a lens configuration of 9 elements in 8 groups, a 7-element aperture, a minimum focusing distance of 0.8m, a 58mm filter, a stepping motor, 67 x 88mm, and approximately 380g.

Well, I hope the rumor is reliable :-)
