Canon’s full frame mirrorless camera set to be announced in 2018 (2nd week of September?) [CW4]

Top 10 Cameras canon rumors full frame mirrorless camera canon eos r pro eos r canon lens explorers of light

We got another suggestion Canon will announce their first full frame mirrorless camera before the end of 2018.

The source did not explicitly mention Photokina 2018 (September) nor another possible timeframe for the announcement. Most rumors about the announcement of Canon’s full frame mirrorless camera suggested Photokina 2018 as the stage where Canon will showcase their FF MILC. Keep in mind that starting 2019, Photokina will happen in May, and that the only thing we are sure so far is that Canon will announce the company’s full frame mirrorless camera somewhen between Q3/Q4 2018 and Q1 2019.

Currently, our best sources suggest an announcement in the second week of September 2018.

We are indeed inclined to believe Canon will announce their first full frame mirrorless camera in the next months. At least we should soon see some serious leaks very soon.

Please note: we are aware that getting such a rumor the day after Nikon’s full frame mirrorless leaked may be a bit suspicious. However, it’s not the first suggestion we get about a 2018 announcement for Canon’s full frame mirrorless camera, and we are confident the “Holy Grail of Rumors”/”We Know It Better”-sites will post the same suggestion in a few days.

Stay tuned.

This is Nikon’s Full Frame Mirrorless Camera (images), announcement 8/23/2018

Thanks to whom it concerns.

We have a set of images of Nikon’s upcoming full frame mirrorless camera, which yesterday accidentally leaked.

While we still know almost nothing about Canon’s full frame mirrorless camera (all rumors), we are pretty sure Nikon will announce theirs in a few weeks. Specifications have already leaked. The announcement is rumored to happen on August 23, 2018.

Stay tuned!

Canon security cameras deliver real-time analysis of emotions, report

Canon is investing in artificial intelligence systems. Here is another application.

Nikkei Asian Review reports:

TOKYO — A Canon unit is launching a new security camera system that performs double duty, providing surveillance while also enhancing customer service.

Canon Marketing Japan’s system analyzes facial expressions in real time — a feature envisioned as a marketing tool allowing retailers and entertainment venues to interpret customers’ reactions moment by moment.

The technology detects three emotions — joy, sadness and anger — as well as age and gender. Software analyzes footage sent to the cloud, automatically tracking and charting the level of a particular emotion as a percentage.

A theater, for instance, could monitor an audience to see when and how often they laughed. Canon MJ expects plenty of business from relatively small retailers, such as supermarkets, along with amusement parks and other clients that want detailed insight into customer satisfaction.

The technology is being launched under the company’s cloud-based image management service, VisualStage, with emotion analysis software developed by Tokyo-based security imaging company Aroba.
