The model (the upcoming MILC, editor’s note] is on the pricey side — 200,000 yen to 300,000 yen ($1,800 to $2,700). Sales are scheduled to start in autumn at the earliest.

Yesterday, Nikon officially announced the development of a “next generation full frame mirrorless camera“. A set of specifications is rumored but not yet official.

Yep, “development”, not “launch”. Details, including the release date and suggested retail prices, are not yet disclosed. A dedicated teaser-site is online. Some specifications of Nikon’s full-frame mirrorless camera have already leaked.

And Canon’s Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera is coming too, very soon.

Is this the teaser for Nikon’s upcoming full frame mirrorless camera?

Nikon Europe posted a short video that has all the characteristics of a teaser video.

The video “Travel of Light” (below) shows a highlighted camera mount, and hints to what appears to be a new camera to be launched soon. The caption states:

Countless rays of light come together, forming an image at the end of their long journey. Nikon’s ongoing mission heading into the future: to guide light into forming superb pictures.

Along with the video, Nikon activated a new microsite which points to a “Nikon Special Event 2018”.

Doesn’t the camera in the video look a bit too bulky for a MILC? Looks like a medium format camera to me.

However, if Nikon is set to announce their first full frame mirrorless camera, then Canon will follow very soon.

Currently, the whole “Canon full frame mirrorless camera rumor mill” is a big mess with lots of talking and very little solid information. All Canon full frame mirrorless camera rumors are listed here.

What do you think, is the video about Nikon’s full frame mirrorless camera? Sound off in the comment section.
