    • Wi-Fi · Bluetooth installed
    • Battery: LP-E6 / LP-E6N (or equivalent)
    • The same radio parts as KissM
  • PC 2352 (most likely a PowerShot camera)
    • Digital camera
    • made in Japan
    • Wi-Fi · Bluetooth installed
    • Size: 110.1 x 63.8 x 39.9 mm
  • Interchangeable lenses (SKUs):

    • 2959C005AA
    • 2963C005AA
    • 2972C005AA
    • 3045C005AA

As you can see no specifications so far for the new lenses. However, we are sure among the list is the next Canon prime lens for the EOS M system, a 32-35mm lens with either f/1.8 or f/1.4. Let’s hope it’s the latter. The other lenses in the list may be “L” lenses and a new kit lens.

There is more unannounced Canon gear recently discovered, possibly the EOS 7D Mark III, EOS 80D replacement, and the EOS M5 Mark II we expect to be announced before Photokina 2018.

All Canon rumors are listed here.

Stay tuned.

Updated Information about Canon’s unreleased cameras (leaked trough certification authorities)

canon rumors canon full frame mirrorless

Nokishita posted an updated list of unreleased Canon gear along with some speculation about the camera models and announcement date.

According to Nokishita’s list, there are two full frame mirrorless cameras scheduled to be released. At least one of the FF MILC might have 30MP sensor. Some of the information we got last week gets confirmed by Nokishita, in particular the possible announcement dates that have previously been suggested to us.

  • K424 (most likely Canon’s upcoming full frame mirrorless camera)
  • Full frame mirrorless camera
  • Wi-Fi · Bluetooth installed
  • Not compatible with smartphone’s Bluetooth remote control function

  • Announcement in late 2018 to early 2019
  • K433 (one more full frame MILC?)
  • mirrorless camera
  • Probably full frame (not APS-C)
  • Wi-Fi · Bluetooth installed
  • Compatible with smartphone’s Bluetooth remote control function
  • Probably released in 2019
  • K436 (may be the Canon EOS 80D replacement)
  • DSLR
  • APS-C sensor
  • Wi-Fi · Bluetooth installed
  • Battery level indication is displayed in 4 levels (same as 9000D/77D)
  • Compatible with smartphone’s Bluetooth remote control function
  • Probably released in 2019 or later
  • K437 (likely to be the EOS 7D Mark III)
  • Single-lens reflex camera

  • EC 811 (we think this is the EOS M5 Mark II)
  • Mirrorless camera
  • APS-C

  • Compatible with smartphone’s Bluetooth remote control function

Announcement dates are still speculation. Canon might announce the highly anticipated full frame mirrorless camera for Photokina 2018 (September) but an announcement in Q1 2019 is also possible. The only camera we are reasonably sure it will be announced for Photokina 2018 is the Canon EOS M5 Mark II.

A new Canon 50mm lens out in the field, undergoing tests?

ef 50mm f/1.8 STM cyber monday

A new “Canon 50mm” rumor surfaced over the web, saying Canon is actively field-testing a new 50mm lens. No other details are suggested at the time.

Let’s hope we’ll see an updated Canon 50mm lens soon. Besides the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM, Canon hasn’t updated any 50mm lens since a lot of years.

We do not think we’ll see such a lens in 2018.

First specification suggestions for upcoming Canon cameras (EOS 7D Mark III, EOS 80D Mark II, EOS M5 Mark II)

canon rumors canon full frame mirrorless

We got some bits about the Canon EOS 7D Mark III, EOS Canon EOS 80D and EOS M5 Mark II from a new source.

With reference to the Canon cameras leaked through a wireless certification authority, we have been told that

All have a new 28MP Canon APS-C sensor without AA filter (which finds us a bit skeptical) and a DIGIC 8 processor. And they are said to be able to shot 4K video at 30fps with Dual Pixel AF.

The EOS 80D Mark II is said to have dedicated headphone and mic ports. Btw, naming the EOS 80D replacement EOS 80D Mark II makes sense. They may have room for an EOS 90D but not for an EOS 100D, since this one already exists (Canon Rebel SL1 in the US). In other words: there is just one moniker left for the xxD line-up. Probably better to start marking the series.

Update: please note that K436 is said to use the same battery as the Canon EOS 77D, which is an entry level DSLR. Either the information about the battery is wrong, or the K436 is not the replacement for the EOS 80D. A Canon EOS 80D Mark II with a downsized battery is very unlikely.

The EOS 7D Mark III ist said to feature dual DIGIC 8 processors, GPS, and dual storage slots.

The EOS M5 Mark II ist said to feature a single DIGIC 8 CPU, and GPS.

The same source claims that there is one prototype of Canon’s full frame mirorless camera (all rumors) that sports an EF mount, and IBIS.

Take all with a grain of salt. We rate the rumor CW2/CW3. If it wasn’t for the “APS-C sensor without AA filter” we would have give a higher rating. But three Canon APS-C DSLRs without AA filter is a bit of a stretch.

Canon full frame mirrorless camera possibly identified through certification authority

canon rumors canon full frame mirrorless

Nokishita posted some more information about an unreleased Canon camera that has been registered at a wireless certification authority.

The camera identified as “DS126721″ may indeed be Canon’s highly anticipated full frame mirrorless camera.

What do we know about DS126721?

  • Interchangeable lens camera (either DSLRS or full frame mirrorless)
  • Wi-Fi · Bluetooth installed
  • Battery: DC 7.2 V, 1800mAh
  • Charger: Input AC 100 – 240V (50/60Hz), Output DC 8.4V 1.2A
  • Same radio parts as EOS M50 (WM 600)

There have been other unreleased Canon cameras leaking through certification authorities. Among them, most likely the EOS 7D Mark III, EOS 90D, and EOS M5 Mark II.

It’s getting hot and hotter, stay tuned!

More about upcoming Canon cameras leaking through certification authorities (EOS 7D Mark III & 90D?)

canon rumors canon full frame mirrorlessNokishita posted some more bits about yet unreleased Canon gear. The intel leaked though a wireless certification authority, so the information is spare. However, we can make some deductions based on the batteries mentioned in the leak.

The registered Canon cameras are

  • “DS126721”, no information for this one
  • “K436” and “K437”, appear to be DSLRs
  • “K424”, “K433” and “EC 811” appear to be mirrorless cameras

According to the used batteries, K436 seems to be an entry-level camera (same battery as EOS 77D), K437 may be either an xD or an xxD camera (same battery as EOS 5D Mark IV, that’s the LP-E6N, used on both line-ups).

Which upcoming cameras might be mentioned in the leak? K427 may point to both the EOS 7D Mark III and the EOS 90D, cameras that could be announced in Q1 2019. An announcement before Photokina 2018 (September 2018) is also possible.

Among the three mirrorless cameras, there might obviously be the highly anticipated Canon full frame mirrorless camera. This camera is expected to be announced between Q4 2018 and Q1 2019, though, according to our sources, a Q1 2019 announcement appears to be more likely. We expect Canon to announce the Canon EOS M5 Mark II in the near future, so this one may also be in the list.

Stay tuned.
