Canon EOS R Mark II Rumor: Field Testing Already Started

Canon Eos R Mark Ii Rumor

Here is a Canon EOS R Mark II rumor. The EOS R Mark II would be the followup of Canon’s first full frame mirrorless camera, the EOS R.

It’s suggested that the Canon EOS R Mark II is already undergoing field testing by a selected group of Canon photographers.

The Canon EOS R Mark II might be announced ahead of Photokina 2020 (May 2010). It’s rumored the EOS R Mark II will have similar ergonomics as the also upcoming Canon EOS Rs (the high resolution EOS R, rumored to get announced February 2020 and to feature IBIS).

So far no specifications have leaked but be assured that the next Canon EOS R Mark II rumor will follow soon. Please note that there is also a pro-oriented EOS R model that’s rumored.

So far, only this preliminary specification list for the high resolution EOS R body surfaced over the web:

  • 75mp full-frame CMOS
  • Sensor “focused on the dynamic range”
  • Frames per second “… Sounded similar to the EOS R”
  • DIGIC 9
  • Dual Card Slots
  • Joystick the same as the EOS-1D X Mark III
  • Larger and higher resolution EVF than the EOS R
  • Fully articulating LCD screen
  • Fully weather-sealed
  • Similar ergonomics as the EOS R (No touch bar)

All Canon rumors are listed here.

Canon EOS R Rumor: Next Model Might Have IBIS On Board

Canon Eos R Rumor

Want Canon to eventually feature IBIS (In Body Image Stabilisation) on their cameras? This Canon EOS R rumor might make you happy.

We have been told (thanks) that Canon’s next EOS R camera will have IBIS on board. The source couldn’t tell us if the EOS R body with IBIS will be the high resolution R camera or the pro-oriented one.

We give this rumor credit. There is no doubt that Canon is working on IBIS, given the remarkable collection of patent applications dealing with it and the fact that another Canon exec told the world about. So it’s just a matter of when and on which camera it will appear first.

There have been rumors suggesting Canon might feature IBIS on the upcoming Canon EOS-1D X Mark III. We think this is unlikely. First appearance of IBIS on a Canon camera will most likely be on a mirrorless body.

Our source couldn’t tell us any specifications of this upcoming EOS R model. If the rumored announcement date of at least one of the rumored EOS R bodies is reliable (February 2020) then we will soon know more.

So far, this preliminary specification list for the high resolution EOS R body surfaced over the web:

  • 75mp full-frame CMOS
  • Sensor “focused on the dynamic range”
  • Frames per second “… Sounded similar to the EOS R”
  • DIGIC 9
  • Dual Card Slots
  • Joystick the same as the EOS-1D X Mark III
  • Larger and higher resolution EVF than the EOS R
  • Fully articulating LCD screen
  • Fully weather-sealed
  • Similar ergonomics as the EOS R (No touch bar)

Stay tuned, the next EOS R rumor will come soon.

Canon EOS Rs Rumor, Possible Specifications Leak, 75MP Mentioned Again

Canon EOS Rs Rumor

Take this Canon EOS Rs rumor with a grain of salt.. A list of specifications for the upcoming high resolution Canon EOS R model leaked over the web.

Please note that “Rs” is a moniker created by the rumor mills, not a leaked denomination for this camera. The high resolution EOS R body might have a totally different name.

It seems the sensor resolution we leaked back in April gets another confirmation. We were told the EOS Rs will feature 75MP, and it gets backed by this Canon EOS Rs rumor (but 80MP have also been rumored).

The rumored specifications for the high resolution, Canon EOS Rs camera:

  • 75mp full-frame CMOS
  • Sensor “focused on the dynamic range”
  • Frames per second “… Sounded similar to the EOS R”
  • DIGIC 9
  • Dual Card Slots
  • Joystick the same as the EOS-1D X Mark III
  • Larger and higher resolution EVF than the EOS R
  • Fully articulating LCD screen
  • Fully weather-sealed
  • Similar ergonomics as the EOS R (No touch bar)

The list originates from a source who claims to have shot a prototype of the EOS Rs. Announcement is now expected early 2020, with February being the most likely candidate.

Stay tuned.

Here Is Another Unreleased Canon Camera Leaked Through Certification Authority

Canon Eos M200 Unreleased Canon Camera

Nokishita spotted another yet unreleased Canon camera registered at a wireless certification authority.

The camera’s denomination is “DS126821“, and according to the certification data it uses the Canon LP-E17 battery and has Bluetooth 4.2.

The Canon LP-E17 battery is used on the EOS M3, EOS M5, EOS M6, Rebel SL2, Rebel T6s, Rebel T6i, Rebel T7i, and EOS 77D. The camera DS126821 could refer either to a new EOS M model or a new Rebel. We think it’s likely it refers to the Canon EOS M5 Mark II.

A few weeks ago a rumor surfaced suggesting Canon is set to release two new EOS M cameras. The two rumored EOS M cameras are said to have these specifications:

Canon Working On A Pro EOS R With Hybrid EF/RF Lens Mount?

Top 10 Cameras Canon Rumors Full Frame Mirrorless Camera Canon Eos R Pro Eos R Canon Lens Explorers Of Light

A pro EOS R model with a hybrid EF/RF lens mount is rumored over the web.

It’s suggested the upcoming pro EOS R, i.e. a Canon EOS R body aimed a photography professionals and on the same tier as the EOS-1D X lineup, might be able to natively mount both RF and EF mount lenses.

Being able to mount both EF and RF mount lenses without using an adapter would be a killer feature. It’s not surprising it is rumored for the fabled EOS-1D X-like professional EOS R that might be announced next year, or in 2021 (all rumors).

As weird as this rumor may sound we give it some credit. While technically complex to implement it is surely not impossible, and we know Canon has the know how and the skills to do it. On other words: it’s feasible for Canon.

What do you think, is this rumor plausible? All Canon rumors are listed here.

Canon EOS-1D X Mark III Rumor, Another Mention Of 24MP Sensor Resolution

Canon EOS 1D X Mark III Rumor Canon Cameras Big Game

Canon already announced the development of their next professional flagship, the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III. Still, here is a Canon EOS-1D X Mark III rumor for you.

Despite announcing the development, Canon did not disclose the sensor resolution of the EOS-1D X Mark III. 24MP were already rumored to come to the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III, and we just got another confirmation from a source we trust.

There are no real doubts left about the announcement of the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III. An authoritative source confirmed it will be at the beginning of 2020, February being a good candidate.

This is what we know for sure so far about the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III (all rumors):

  • All-new CMOS sensor
  • Dual-pixel 525-point CMOS AF with 90/100% coverage horizontally and vertically
  • New Digic Processor
  • 10-bit HEIF file capture (in addition to JPEG and Raw)
  • Max 16fps capture via viewfinder, and 20fps in live view (with AF)
  • Dual CF Express card slots
  • 10-bit, 4:2:2 4K/60 video with C-Log
  • Backlit buttons

Some sites claim IBIS (In Body Image Stabilisation) will be featured on the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III. We think this is highly unlikely. There is no reason to doubt that Canon is working on IBIS, given the remarkable collection of patent applications dealing with it and the fact that another Canon exec told the world about. But it’s likely that the first Canon camera to feature it will be a mirrorless, and not the flagship DSLR.

We are sure the next Canon EOS-1D X Mark III rumor will surface soon. Stay tuned. In the meantime there is an interview with the mastermind behind the EOS-1D X series to read.
