Canon full frame mirrorless camera possibly identified through certification authority

Nokishita posted some more information about an unreleased Canon camera that has been registered at a wireless certification authority.

The camera identified as “DS126721″ may indeed be Canon’s highly anticipated full frame mirrorless camera.

What do we know about DS126721?

  • Interchangeable lens camera (either DSLRS or full frame mirrorless)
  • Wi-Fi · Bluetooth installed
  • Battery: DC 7.2 V, 1800mAh
  • Charger: Input AC 100 – 240V (50/60Hz), Output DC 8.4V 1.2A
  • Same radio parts as EOS M50 (WM 600)

There have been other unreleased Canon cameras leaking through certification authorities. Among them, most likely the EOS 7D Mark III, EOS 90D, and EOS M5 Mark II.

It’s getting hot and hotter, stay tuned!

More about upcoming Canon cameras leaking through certification authorities (EOS 7D Mark III & 90D?)

canon rumors canon full frame mirrorlessNokishita posted some more bits about yet unreleased Canon gear. The intel leaked though a wireless certification authority, so the information is spare. However, we can make some deductions based on the batteries mentioned in the leak.

The registered Canon cameras are

  • “DS126721”, no information for this one
  • “K436” and “K437”, appear to be DSLRs
  • “K424”, “K433” and “EC 811” appear to be mirrorless cameras

According to the used batteries, K436 seems to be an entry-level camera (same battery as EOS 77D), K437 may be either an xD or an xxD camera (same battery as EOS 5D Mark IV, that’s the LP-E6N, used on both line-ups).

Which upcoming cameras might be mentioned in the leak? K427 may point to both the EOS 7D Mark III and the EOS 90D, cameras that could be announced in Q1 2019. An announcement before Photokina 2018 (September 2018) is also possible.

Among the three mirrorless cameras, there might obviously be the highly anticipated Canon full frame mirrorless camera. This camera is expected to be announced between Q4 2018 and Q1 2019, though, according to our sources, a Q1 2019 announcement appears to be more likely. We expect Canon to announce the Canon EOS M5 Mark II in the near future, so this one may also be in the list.

Stay tuned.

Four unreleased Canon lenses leak through certification authority

Canon EF-M 32mm f/1.4 STM EF-M 22mm canon lenses

Nokishita uncovered four yet-to-release Canon lenses.

These lens have SKUs

  • 3045C005AA
  • 2959C005AA
  • 2963C005AA
  • 2972C005AA

At least some of the lenses show up as manufactured in Canon’s Utsunomiya Factory, where all “L” lenses are made. Hence there may be one or more “L” lenses coming any time within the next 3 to 9 months.

Among the bunch we are sure is the 50mm equivalent (32 or 35mm on APS-C) lens for Canon EOS M system we leaked back in 2016 (its development). It’s one of many of our rumors that get regularly hijacked, and then surface somewhere else on the web. We were always told that it would be a 35mm lens, but others talk about 32mm. This lens may have f/1.4 or f/1.8. let’s hope it’s the former. We were also told this lens will be announced ahead of Photokina 2018, which makes even more sense since we now have reasons to think that most likely Canon will announce the EOS M5 Mark II in September 2018. Canon’s full frame mirrorless may take a bit longer.

So what may the other lenses be? Since a few days a replacement for the EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II is rumored on some spots on the web. For the time being we can neither confirm nor deny this. The EF 24-70mm f/2.8 II was announced in 2012, so it may be a bit early for a replacement.

So far no hints about the remaining two lenses. hey might be “L” lenses. There are some sugestions that Canon may announced professional lenses for Photokina 2018 but so far it’s only buzz.

Stay tuned.

A Canon conspiracy theory: A killer mirrorless camera may be on the horizon

mirrorless camera

Tony & Chelsea Northrup discuss a possible conspiracy theory, with Canon at the centre.

Is Canon purposely holding back their engineering skills, and hence a killer MILC, for strategic reasons? In other words: is Canon waiting for the right time to launch the ultimate mirrorless camera?

They say:

Canon has been the #1 camera manufacturer for decades, and they beat Nikon, Sony, Fuji, and all the others with leading-edge innovation. That seems to have changed in the last few years…but Chelsea has a theory that they’re just charging up for the ultimate mirrorless camera. Is it true?

While I’m sure the discussion in the video below wasn’t intended to be serious, there are some solid arguments in the talk. Enjoy, and sound off in the comment section if you want.

If you want to know more about Canon’s mirrorless agenda we got you covered. We expect Canon to announce the Canon EOS M5 Mark II ahead of Photokina 2018. Canon’s full frame mirrorless might take a bit longer.

More possible Canon PowerShot announcements ahead of Photokina 2018 [CW2]

canon rumors canon full frame mirrorless

We got some more bits about Canon’s agenda for Photokina 2018, along with the rumor about the Canon EOS M5 Mark II.

Canon might announce also two PowerShot cameras around September 2018.

  • A premium, travel oriented PowerShot SX740, featuring a 40x zoom, raw file format and GPS
  • The PowerShot G7X III, with a new 1″ sensor manufactured by Canon, Dual Pixel AF, 4K, and again GPS

We feel more confident about the Canon EOS M5 Mark II rumor than on this. Time will tell.

Stay tuned.
