Here is a Canon RF 100-500mm review. The recently announced Canon RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L IS lens seems to be a rather interesting and well performing lens.

Coming from Gordon Laing, the 29 minutes video-review below looks at the Canon RF 100-500mm from all possible points of view and compares it to the EF 100-400mm lens. Gordon seems to be pretty fond of the RF 100-500mm, calling it the “best RF telephoto” lens. In any case a powerful option for the EOS R system.

Canon Set To Release An 11MP EOS R5c Video-Oriented Camera?

Here is a follow up to the rumor about two possible upcoming EOS R cameras, the EOS R5s and EOS R5c.

The same source contacted us again (thanks a lot) and suggested the resolution of the EOS R5c (or, unlikely, EOS R3c) might be around 11.25MP. The resolution of the EOS R5s (or, unlikely, EOS R3s) should be around 80MP, which is already rumored since a while.

Is a video-oriented EOS R camera with 11MP something plausible? It might, in our humble opinion. Still, we recommend to keep the salt ready for this rumor.

We expect Canon to release two Cinema cameras with RF mount on September 24, 2020.

These Three Canon RF Lenses Are Scheduled For 2021 (possibly)

We got a tip about a bunch of Canon RF mount lenses that Canon might announce in 2021.

Our source suggested that Canon is set to release three RF mount lenses within 2021:

Canon’s High Resolution EOS R Camera Undergoing Field Testing?

Did you forget about the high resolution EOS R model we reported first about and that was confirmed by a Canon exec? Well, it’s here again.

A new rumor about the high resolution EOS R showed up, and it seems it sums up everything that was rumored in the past. The source claims that a small group of selected photographers is already testing this camera. The rumored resolution is 90MP, which fits pretty well with the resolution we were tipped last year. There is also a Canon patent that seems to confirm what our sources told us.

All in all there is nothing new coming with this rumor. Sometimes the interweb just recycles what is already there, and easily gets forgotten. That’s how the rumor industry works. Take it or leave it. The only new information coming with this rumor concerns the EVF (Electric ViewFinder), said to be larger than on actual models.

That’s all. So far no specifications nor an announcement date have been suggested.

The year 2020 didn’t just have Covid-19, it also saw the announcement of the Canon EOS R5 and EOS R6. Two important milestones in Canon’s history. Another camera that was announced just a few weeks ago is the Sony a7S III.

Can Canon Make An R Series Camera Less Expensive Than The EOS RP? (yes, a Canon exec said)

A new rumor surfaced, suggesting Canon is working on an entry level camera with a price point below the Canon EOS RP. All fine, but it’s nothing new and we knew before.

Back in April 2019, Michael Burnhill, European Technical Support Manager at Canon Europe said in an interview:

Question: Do you see a full-frame camera coming in at a price below the RP?

Michael Burnhill Yes.

The rumor source suggests Canon might release such an entry level camera with a price below $999 in the first half of 2021. A bit of a recycled one, this one.

However, even with a Canon exec saying there will be an entry level EOS R camera below the EOS RP, the question is: can Canon make and sell a full frame mirrorless camera that costs less than the actual RP price of $999? Might be difficult, in our opinion. What would be the price point, $700? Not realistic. If you have an idea how this might work out please let me know in the comment section.
