A new Canon patent application suggests there might be some truth to the rumor about an EOS R model with APS-C sensor.

Canon patent application 2022-18006 (Japan) discusses optical formulas for an RF-S 16-55mm f/2.8 lens for crop sensor, and RF 28-70mm f/2.8 lens for full-frame sensors.
