This is a lens rumored since long. And a lens we never doubted would come to the RF mount: the Canon Rf 35mm f/1.2L.
This is a lens that will not be missed in Canon’s RF lineup. A pertinent Canon patent application has also already been spotted. Once more the global pandemic is made responsible for the fact the RF 35mm f/1.2L wasn’t already released. Expect this lens to get announced towards the end of 2021, maybe along with the Canon EOS R3.
Here is one more Canon patent for RF mount lenses, another one in an already long list: 35mm f/1.4 and 28mm f/1.4 lenses for full frame mirrorless cameras, i.e. the EOS R.
Canon patent application 2021-063966 (Japan) discusses optical formulas for a 35mm f/1.4 lens and a 28mm f/1.4 lens, both for the RF mount. The patent application was spotted by Canon News.

Focus distance 28.00
F number 1.42
Half angle (degree) 37.69

F number 1.42
Half angle (degree) 31.73
Image height 21.64
Lens total length 154.45
BF 16.17

And yet another Canon patent, as usual spotted by Hi Lows Note. A 35mm f/1.2 lens for the EOS R system.
Canon patent 2021-60475A (Japan) discusses various optical designs for a 35mm f/1.2 lens for the RF mount. This is definitely a lens we are going to see in the RF lens lineup. A 35mm f/1.2 for sure is going to be released.

Canon patent application 2020-181071 (Japan) discusses optical formulas for an RF 50mm F1.4 and an RF 35mm f/1.4 lens. This patent application is particularly interesting since 50mm f/1.4 and 35mm f/1.4 are two very classic lenses for a full frame system.
The patent application seems to reveal a modern and complex optical design with front and rear lenses for optical correction. Moreover, we think it has internal focusing, a small size and a very fast auto-focus. Another two lenses that might go into production.
